CHIESA DELLA BADIA

The Badia church was built at the end of the XVIII century and the beginning of the XIX century, after the enlargement of the Conservatorio di Maria Addolorata (1776). After the earthquake of 1968 the only remaining part is the façade with a roof with two sloping sides completed by a large gable; this is well proportioned in its simple lines, decorated only by a double row of four pilasters which with the robust entablature frame it. The pattern of the triangular gable is repeated on the entrance doorway and on the window of the  second level
After the initial damage caused by the earthquake, the central nave collapsed in 1984; the reconstruction was carried out in the 1990s. today the monastery and church are of the Ordine delle Bocconiste of Padre Giacomo Cusmano.
