Church of S. Liberale
Built by the fishermen of Trapani around 1600 and made of coral, it was a votive offering to the martyr Liberale (o Liberante). He was slain near Carthage for not denying his faith in Christ. Some fishermen of Trapani sailed as far as the waters of Carthage, where the martyr occurred, and there a great amount of coral was found and it was attributed to the innocent blood of the Saint. Upon their return, the fishermen unloaded their precious cargo and on this site they built the small church in honour of the Saint.
