AREA ARCHEOLOGICA MONTE POLIZZO

 

Studies carried out on Mount Polizzo, have brought to light the remains of a Elymian city which existed between the VII - VI centuries B.C.. Around 325 B.C. the acropolis was occupied by the Punics, and later, between 950 and 1000 A.D., a small village developed, partly on pre-existing structures.
