MONASTERO E CHIESA DI SAN CARLO

The church and the convent, built between 1612 and 1617, were partially rebuilt in the middle of the eighteenth century. Up to ten years ago the monastery was home to a community of cloister nuns, well known for their typical pastries called “Abbey sweets” still made by the confectioners of Erice according to the old recipe. At the moment the convent hosts “La Salerniana” an association that is recognized nationally and internationally in the field of art and culture.
